Despite being on top for most of the second half, Los Angeles shot unnecessary 3 pointers in the final 3 minutes of the game .... which they missed. And the Nuggets capitalized with quick buckets that cut their deficit and ended up taking over the lead for the Denver 101-97 win. The Lakers let this one slip away, but it's just preseason and hopefully Luke learned more about his team with this game despite the loss.
Lakers rookie forward Brandon Ingram finally scores his first bucket as a Laker with an alley oop from Marcelo Huertas and then hit a 3 after a Jordan Clarkson 3 pointer. We shouldn't get to excited about preseason buckets, but in this case "the kid" gains confidence in the pros.
Los Angeles is taking care of business in their home preseason debut against the Nuggets. They went into the final period of the game with a 80-72 lead.
